First Impressions at Old Ferry Donut
Last weekend, I, a donut lover, visited Old Ferry Donut , located in Gocheok I-Park Mall . I usually enjoy small moments of happiness with sweet, soft donuts and coffee, but this visit was a bit more special. It was for a family member's birthday, and we decided to use donuts instead of a cake. The experience here was so satisfying that I won't be able to forget it.
The store is located outside, and the signature orange color and cute logo caught my eye from a distance. As soon as I entered, the cozy interior and bright lighting created a warm and lively atmosphere. In particular, the space where you could comfortably enjoy donuts and coffee by the window was impressive. The overall atmosphere of the store was so good that my anticipation grew the moment I walked in.
The Perfect Harmony of Various Donuts and Coffee
The donut menu at Old Ferry Donut was really diverse. There were donuts with unique tastes and personalities displayed such as crème brûlée, butter pistachio, and raspberry sugar ball. I chose the crème brûlée , peanut butter , and raspberry sugar ball , and I would particularly recommend these three.
The crème brûlée had a fantastic combination of a crispy caramel coating and a soft custard cream. The peanut butter was surprisingly soft and melted in my mouth, even though I expected it to be chewy. The raspberry sugar ball had plenty of sweet and sour raspberry jam, which was enough to whet my appetite. Each donut had a unique charm, making it fun to choose.
The coffee was also better than I expected. The Americano had a clean, savory taste that balanced the sweetness of the donuts perfectly, and the latte was smooth and rich, pairing perfectly with the donuts. I didn't know the coffee at Old Ferry Donut would be so good! In particular, the combination of a sip of warm latte and a bite of a sweet donut created a truly blissful feeling.
A Donut Tower Instead of a Birthday Cake
The highlight of this visit was the donut tower I prepared to celebrate a family member's birthday. We stacked donuts with various flavors and decorated it like a cake with candles, and it looked beautiful and tasted great. My family all marveled at this unique birthday cake and had a fun time.
Especially with a visual appeal and taste that would be loved by children, everyone was able to have a satisfying time. It went beyond simply replacing a cake, and we were able to create a special and memorable birthday event.
