If you want to enjoy a quick snack near Gwanghwamun Station, you should definitely visit Jushikhoesa Geumseong Super . This is a small snack bar located right next to the Four Seasons Hotel, and the name itself has a unique charm. At lunchtime, they sell familiar snack items such as tteokbokki, fried foods, and sundae (Korean blood sausage), and in the evening, it transforms into a space where you can enjoy drinks while watching sports. While there are many instant tteokbokki restaurants around Gwanghwamun, places like this, where you can casually enjoy simple snacks, are rare, making it even more special.
Atmosphere and First Impression
When I first visited, I honestly wondered, "Is this really a good restaurant?" The exterior is roughly surrounded by plastic sheets, and the menu board is handwritten, giving it a strong old neighborhood snack bar feel. But when I entered, the smell of odeng (fishcake) broth pierced my nose, stimulating my hunger. The friendly atmosphere felt within this roughness actually made me feel at ease.

The Charm of the Tteok-Twig-Soon Set and Bibimmyeon
The menu I ordered was the Tteok-Twig-Soon set , and it exceeded my expectations. The tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) had a moderately spicy yet sweet seasoning that immediately grabbed my attention, and the fried foods were freshly fried and crispy! The sundae (Korean blood sausage) was chewy, creating a perfect harmony. Especially, dipping the fried food in the tteokbokki sauce enhanced the flavor.
And personally, I highly recommend the Bibimmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) . The Bibimmyeon, served in a green bowl, was really delicious as the savory sesame oil aroma and the spicy-sweet seasoning were well absorbed into the noodles. If you mix it with the egg yolk on top, the taste is truly fantastic. The Bibimmyeon alone was enough to make me want to visit again.
A Spacious and Comfortable Space with Affordable Prices
The inside of the restaurant was more spacious than I thought, so you could eat comfortably without worrying about finding a seat even during lunchtime. Especially the seating area in the basement had a comfortable atmosphere that could accommodate both solo diners and large groups. Above all, the prices were really affordable! Considering the location in Gwanghwamun, it was surprisingly cheap, so I could visit without any burden.
Transforming into a Sports Pub in the Evening
While it is a friendly snack bar during the day, the atmosphere completely changes in the evening. It transforms into a space where you can enjoy sports games with beer and simple snacks. It's a place where you can experience two different charms at the same time: the humble happiness of eating tteokbokki and fried food during the day and the lively sports pub atmosphere at night.
